Three speed straight cut gears and reverse.
How did you acquire the vehicle?
By word of mouth (South Coast Car Club) from an Oakland Car Club Register member.
Brief known history of the vehicle
When the car was finished 16 ½ years later, the previous owner said, “I told you all about the history when you picked it up” and would not say anything more 16 years later so I disappointingly know nothing.
What do you like & dislike about your car?
When a left hand drive car was built the hand brake and gear stick was in the centre, when a right hand drive car was produced why the devil did they move the hand brake and gear stick as well, over to the right of the driver.
Fun facts or any other details you’d like to include?
Had to make a new crown wheel and pinion gear so made the same ratio and then had to choose the rolling diameter of the tread of the tyres. The choice was fortunate as both the ration and tyre tread diameter work well.
